Speaking at: London Roadshow - Islington - 6 December 2013Ian Potter has been involved with the Private Rented Sector for over 20 years, formerly as an agent before being a full time employee of ARLA. He has experience in dealing with the clients accounts, a subject to which he brings the skills gained in the banking industry, as well as negotiating and dealing with the property management issues for a typically varied portfolio from the small single property landlord to the corporate portfolio. He joined the National Council of ARLA in the early 1990’s and severed on several committees over the years but eventually focusing on compliance and finance.
He remained a director of ARLA until becoming a full time employee in 2006 as the Business and Compliance Manager, later becoming the Operations Manager until his recent appointment as Managing Director. His work involves regular meeting with stakeholders, MPs and other interested parties as well as meeting as many members as he can to hear all sides of the PRS debate.
Away from work Ian has a passion for theatre and sport being a follower of one of the English Rugby Premiership sides as well as his native Scotland, where he still has a family home(he thinks).
